Mass Suicide by Sikh women of Rawalpindi in 1947 is a forgotten horrific episode. During the Partition of India, violence against women was an extensive issue. Rawalpindi saw the massacre of the Sikhs. Women were gang-raped & many who feared this fate committed suicide by jumping into wells. It is estimated that during the partition between 75,000 and 100,000 Hindu and Sikh women were kidnapped and raped by Pakistani Islamist Radical Muslims of Pakistan.
