Massive Rigging in Farce Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir Elections by Pakistan Army And Imran Khan’s Party PTI. Azadi Elections were raised against Pakistan.
Results showed PTI won by a simple majority of 24 seats. Eight seats went in Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) favor and six in Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N). Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party (JKPP) and the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (AJKMC) secured one seat each.
Amid reports of poll-rigging in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, huge demonstrations were held in PoK against the Pakistani Army.
Thousands of people took to the streets against Pakistan Army as several reports emerged that Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) interfered in the election process of PoK which as conducted on July 25.
The opposition parties are up in arms with the Imran Khan government and have termed the election process in PoK a farce.
“The assembly elections were nothing but a farce exercise to hoodwink the people,” PoK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has outrightly refused to accept the results.
Taking to Twitter, PML-N Vice-President said that her party fought hard but it is not easy to deal with fraud.
She also shared a video via a tweet, “Video of polling staff stamping ballots for PTI at Sheikh Soli primary school polling station, Forward Kahuta. Same was done at the girls school next door. This video was made by a FC constable who was stopping them.
“I have not accepted the results and will not. I have not even acknowledged the results of this fake government. Congratulations to the workers and voters. What will be the course of action on this shameless fraud, the party will decide soon, God willing,” Maryam tweeted.
Over the last several decades, Pakistan Army has changed the demography of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and settled Punjabis from Pakistani Punjab in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and reduced the number of indigenous Kashmiris from its occupied part of Kashmir that is also responsible for the plight of Kashmiris in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
PPP’s vice-president Senator Sherry Rehman had blamed the Centre for “systematic rigging” and said it was attempting to “steal” the elections.
The PPP leader alleged PTI workers had fired on a PPP worker’s car during polling time, while police had uprooted a camp belonging to her party. PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb in a statement said that PTI “goons” had attacked her party’s workers in Gujranwala’s Alipur Chatha area to “rig” the election.
Aurangzeb said despite PTI workers beating up her party workers, the police “arrested those associated with PML-N”.
“PTI has been allowed to engage in hooliganism with complete liberty,” she said.
Prof. Sajjad Raja from his twitter handle @NEP_JKGBL tweeted, “Parkot Gala Poling Station – Total Registered Votes 750 – Votes poled ZERO. Not even a single voter turned up to cast their vote. People of Jammu & Kashmir have no faith in this fraudulent election, which is engineered by Pakistani agencies. WE REJECT THIS SELECTION.”
In an online poll done by Ahmad Tanveer via his twitter handle @Iam_ATanveer 78.8% people voted for 00% transparency in Kashmir elections and 0% confidence in the results. Only 16.7% voted 100% confidence in the transparency in Kashmir elections. This shows how massive rigging in farce Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir elections by Pakistan Army and Imran Khan’s Party PTI has lost the confidence of people in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
In a reply Muhammad Iqbal Malik shared the picture of a Pakistan Army Officer showing all his fingers used instead of thumb prints for voters and how many votes he alone may have casted.
Eminent people like Arif Aajakia had already predicted that the elections is going to be fixed by Pakistan Army even before the elections.
In one of the video shared by Hamid Mir a journalist from Pakistan, a Imran Khan’s PTI official can be seen getting off a car with an empty ballot box showing the level of booth capturing and fake votes planned by Imran Khan and his party PTI with connivance of Pakistan Army.
While Imran Khan’s Party PTI was given all kind of privileges to rig the elections, opposition parties were not that fortunate. Candidates of Tehreek-e-Lubaik faced bullying by the administration despite full permission from the Election Commission. Their workers were rounded from election duty and taken to remote areas and were not allowed to sit on polling booths.
The Deputy Speaker, who was disqualified from the Balochistan Court by taking the oath of neutrality, was present at the polling stations in Quetta today with the government machinery to steal votes for the PTI candidate in the Kashmir election.
Candidates that have the backing of nationals security agencies are only allowed to contest the elections in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

In a massive embarrassment for Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, citizens of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) raised slogans demanding ‘Azadi’ from the Pakistan government after the results of the recently-held polls in the region were announced. In the video shared by PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz Sharif, PoK citizens can be heard sloganeering against the newly-elected PTI government in the region demanding ‘Azadi’ from them.
“Today, on the first day of the PTI’s fake victory, for the first time in Azad Kashmir, the slogan of “Independent Kashmir” was raised. When you rob people’s votes, oppress them, such incidents arise,” said Maryam Nawaz on her Twitter handle.
PoK, Opposition dub elections ‘rigged’
Protests erupted onto the streets of PoK as thousands marched against the Pakistan Army on Monday accusing them of election manipulation. The protests come after Imran Khan’s PTI won the elections bagging 25 out of the 45 seats that went to the polls. After the results were announced, a large number of citizens from PoK gathered to protest against the Pakistan Army accusing them of interfering in the election process and rigging the results in favor of PTI.
The spokesperson of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb alleged PoK Election Commission officials refused to accept PML-N’s written complaints, saying they would accept them after permission from the chief election commissioner.
“Complaints of violence and rigging do not meet the criteria for a transparent election,” she stated.
“Women voters are being treated insultingly,” she added and claimed that there are reports of votes being stamped inside the polling station with the help of staff.
In one of the video shared on social media, Pakistan Army person can be seen casting vote for another voter.
As per an interview given by Dr Amjad Ayub Mirza who is an author and a human rights activist from Mirpur in PoK and is currently in exile in the UK, he gave a detailed account of the election rigging in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
He told ANI that, July 25, 2021, will be remembered as the day when elections held for the so-called legislative assembly of Pakistani-occupied Kashmir (PoK) were marred with rigging, violence and murder under the watchful eye of the Pakistani military establishment itself.
So far 25 Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf PTI and 11 Pakistan People’s Party PPP candidates allegedly approved by none other than Pakistani Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa have been officially declared winners taking first and second place respectively.
Ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz PML-N has only been able to bag six seats. This clearly demonstrates that for the first time in the history of PoK, the Pakistani military establishment will not only be able to form a government but also have a pro-Bajwa opposition. Hence, Pakistan’s Army Chief will be able to play one against the other whenever he finds it beneficial to his political ambitions in the region.
The aforementioned elections have also proved to be a money-grabbing event. Prior to July 25, sector commander of PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan Brigadier Naeem Malik was caught red-handed accepting bribes from PTI candidates.
It was reported that Malik has offered PTI candidate billionaire Ilyas Tanvir the position of the prime minister of the occupied territory for a cash lump sum of one billion rupees of which one million was taken as token money. Brigadier Naeem has likewise been accused of selling tickets to PTI candidates and promised them a victory. He has been accused of manipulating the appointment of Judges of both the High and Supreme courts and issuing favour to selected construction companies in PoK.
The Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Ali Ameen Gandapur was barred by the Election Commission from entering PoK after he gave five lakh rupees to a PTI candidate. The money was confiscated. But Gandapur refused to abide by the orders of EC and continued to visit several constituencies in PoK. On one occasion when confronted by the youth he got out of his motor, pulled out his pistol and began firing! Besides the above-mentioned tactics by means of which the outcome of the current elections has been controlled, there are other factors involved as well such.
The role of Lent officers, head of the revenue department, the patwari, and the tehsildar. Their role is to ensure that people living in their area vote for the candidate who is favored by the Pakistan military. During the last week of the election campaign, they start to pay visits to families of those who they consider are still in doubt about who to cast their vote for. All sorts of pressures are applied to motivate them to fall in line for a meager monetary favour. And they do fall in line since they know that the price they will be paying in form of extortion and requisition of their lands by the patwari on behalf of the Pakistan army will be too much to bear.
The most important document for a government servant, serving in PoK, is his or her Annual Confidential Report commonly referred to as ACR that is prepared by senior bureaucrats. It is this ACR on which all government servants depend for promotions and any disobedience of one’s superiors means that one is side-lined for the rest of one’s life. Here is when they become the most effective tool that is applied to bully hundreds of thousands of government servants to cast their votes in accordance with the dictates of their supervisors.
PoK is run by a troika composed of the Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Chief Secretary and the Inspector General of police. All three are non-resident Pakistanis appointed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Hence they are referred to as Lent officers. The accomplishment of the election result desired by the military establishment is fulfilled by them. It is therefore not surprising that despite the crowd-puller public meetings held all over POK by Maryam Nawaz, PTI has managed to secure a ‘convincing’ victory pushing the ruling PML-N to third place.
Forty thousand extra troops were deployed at polling stations on July 25 to maintain peace. However, it was the very military that stood by as silent spectators as PTI goons carried on with violence and occupied the polling station where they uninterruptedly marked PTI candidates.
The hypocrisy of PPP and PML-N is now evident. Although both parties have accused PTI of applying a combination of violence, bullying and rigging yet, according to reliable inner circles who spoke to this scribe, they refuse to launch a wider protest campaign for fear of India using it as a pretext to exposing the plight of the subjugated people of PoK to those living in the valley.
India had slammed Pakistan for conducting elections in Gilgit-Baltistan and said any action to ‘alter the status of the militarily occupied region has no legal basis’.
“We have seen reports regarding announcement of elections to the so-called “Gilgit-Baltistan” Legislative Assembly to be held on November 15, 2020. The Government of India has conveyed its strong protest to the Government of Pakistan and reiterated that the entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, including the areas of so-called Gilgit and Baltistan are an integral part of India by virtue of its accession in 1947. The Government of Pakistan has no locus standi on territories illegally and forcibly occupied by it,” the MEA statement had said.
