Destruction after Blast in Beirut, Lebanon left 135 people dead and over 4,000 were injured with injuries ranging between light and serious in Tuesday’s explosion in the port of Beirut. Bodies are still being extracted from the debris at the blast site and the Sea.
A massive explosion rocked the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Tuesday evening, leaving at least 135 dead and thousands injured.
Many people died from car crashes, bodies are unidentifiable.
Lebanon’s Supreme Defense Council Declared Beirut a disaster area and recommended the government declare a state of emergency.
As per Beirut Governor, “We lost 10 members of the Beirut Firefighters unit and the size of the damages ranges between 3 and 5 billion dollars and perhaps more. About 200-300k houses were damaged. Hundreds of Beirutis have become without housing.”
Head of Hotel Federation for Tourism Industries Pierre Achkar said, “90 percent of Beirut hotels are damaged.”
As per sources, Preliminary information indicate that there are two deaths from the Lebanese army, 6 missing, and 148 wounded in Tuesday’s blast.
The problem is that the workers in the port didn’t know there was nitrate there …nor did the Firefighters.
Orient Queen touristic ship fully sunk on Tuesday, killing 2 of its crew and injuring 6.

All videos show people walking near the warehouse with fireworks as if it was a simple fire, they didn’t expect that explosion.
High council of defense will announce Beirut a disaster zone for 2 weeks.
Wheat Destroyed
Lebanon’s minister of economy said, “All of the wheat in the port is useless now, it’s all contaminated with toxins.”
Local wheat production only covers about 10% of Lebanese consumption.
The remainder is imported – principally from Russia. Almost all imported grain (80%+) enters trough that single terminal at the heart of the explosion.
4 ships with wheat were waiting at sea because Lebanon was unable to pay for them.
They will soon be unloaded in the port of Tripoli, north Lebanon. Currently, the wheat should last a month or two.

As per a local, “Losing the port here in Lebanon at this particular moment is no simple matter. We are already going through the worst economic crisis the country faces since the civil war. There are already massive food and fuel shortages. And now we cannot import anything. Darker days are ahead.”
The borders between Syria and Lebanon have been opened to contribute to the transportation of the injured by order of President Bashar al Assad according to People’s Assembly Members.
Foreign Citizen Casualties. Condolences and Aid pouring in from all over the world
USA Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, “I’d like to extend my deepest condolences to all those affected by the massive explosion at the port of Beirut on August 4. We are monitoring and stand ready to assist the people of Lebanon as they recover from this horrible tragedy.”
Iran’s Parliament Speaker message of solidarity with Lebanese, the government, and Sayyed Hassan Nasrollah. He also says he’s in talks with the authorities to send aid.
Premises of the Finnish mission in Beirut 2 km away from blast completely destroyed. Embassy confirms none were injuried.
Prime Minister of the Netherlands states that 5 employees from the Netherlands Embassy were injured following the blast.
He also adds that the country stands in solidarity with the Lebanese people.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said at least one Australian has been killed in the Beirut blast and the Australian Embassy building has been “significantly compromised”.
French President Emmanuel Macron said, “We are deploying a civil security detachment and several tonnes of medical equipment in Lebanon. Emergency doctors will also reach Beirut as soon as possible to strengthen hospitals. France is already engaged.”
Two Philippine nationals were killed and 8 were injured while One is in a Critical but stable condition in Tuesday’s explosion in Beirut, the Philippine Embassy in Beirut confirmed on Wednesday.
A Japanese citizen suffered a minor injury during the explosion in Beirut Tuesday, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said at a news conference on Wednesday.
Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said Tuesday evening on his official Twitter account: “Sad and unfortunate the situation in Beirut, Lebanon. Our condolences to the families of the victims and to the entire sister nation.”
Panama’s Foreign Ministry tweeted: “The National Government expresses its deep dismay at the terrible explosion that occurred in Beirut, while expressing its solidarity with the Republic and the People of Lebanon and expressing its condolences to the families of the deceased and injured.”
And Ecuador’s Foreign Ministry said: “Ecuador stands in solidarity with the Republic of Lebanon in light of the explosions registered in its capital, Beirut. @CancilleriaEc expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.” The ministry said 150 Ecuadorians reside in Lebanon and “so far there are no victims.”
Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro said, “Deeply saddened by the scenes of the explosion in Beirut. Brazil is home to the largest Lebanese community in the world and, therefore, we feel this tragedy as if it were in our territory.”
Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations will send 5 aircrafts to Beirut to help remove the aftermath of the explosion.
Multiple staff members at Germany’s embassy in Beirut have been injured in Tuesday’s explosion.
An Egyptian citizen was declared dead by the Egyptian embassy. An Egyptian-owned cargo vessel was hit by the explosion – taking on water from damage, serious injuries on board.

An Indonesian national was “slightly injured” in Tuesday’s explosion in the Port of Beirut, the country’s Embassy in Lebanon said.
The US Embassy in Beirut is urging those in the area of the explosion to “stay indoors and wear masks if available” due to reports of toxic gases released from the blast.
This hashtag has been trending in Lebanon all day; it calls for the execution of the head of the port authority/customs. If he has any sense of decency—and he does not seem to have any—he would immediately resign and surrender to the police. الاعداملبدريضاهر

President Trump Called it an Attack
“Asked if he meant to call this an attack, Trump says yes, that those who briefed him (I think he said “the generals”) believe it’s an attack.”
“They seem to think it was an attack — a bomb of some kind,” said US President Donald Trump as US military leaders are assessing the Beirut Blast.
Trump calls #BeirutBlast a “terror attack” and it was a “bomb” according to his “Generals”.
The origin of the this nitrate was already uncovered. Like it or not, the port and airport are one of the most monitored places in Lebanon by all, USA included and they know so.
People were seen wearing masks on their way to donate blood.
I’m kinda out of words, Lebanon was already collapsed in every single sector and this just happened.
Foreign Aid
Iraq, Iran, France، Kuwait, and Qatar are officially sending aid.
2 Hospitals from Qatar with 500 beds each and 1 from Iraq has been setup.
Qatar Air Force used C17 Globemaster III enroute to Lebanon, Qatar sends two field hospitals and urgent medical assistance to Lebanon.
Egypt also sending planes with aid to Beirut.
A spokesman for the Iranian Red Crescent: We will send to Lebanon 2000 food packages estimated at 9 tons within 72 hours. Today, medicines and medical supplies will be sent to Beirut. An RDH hospital will be established and a 22-person medical team including specialists in general medicine, orthopedics, operating rooms and doctors will be sent.
The Russian government is sending five planes of medical equipment and a team of doctors to set up a field hospital in Beirut to help the city in the aftermath of yesterday’s explosion, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said Wednesday, according to Russia’s TASS news agency.
The ministry will also send a team trained for search and rescue operations and a mobile laboratory to identify cases of Covid-19.
Iraq dispatched a plane with Medical aid and doctors.
The Tunisian president offered bringing 100 injuried to Tunis to be medically cared after.
It seems the explosion(s) was so strong, it was picked up on seismometers up to 500 km away. This seismic section shows signals consistent with a location of Beirut. However there were 2 big Earthquakes in Turkey one around the time of blast in Beirut, Lebanon and the other at a different time.
Some locals have warned and said, “be careful, when you see donate links, donate at your own risk, lebanon has no banking system now, it is impossible to send dollars to Lebanon. I will not share links and don’t.”
Points to Ponder
Was this huge blast a result of carelessness of some port staff or workers?
Or was it a deliberate attack on Beirut, Lebanon?
If it was a deliberate attack on Beirut, who could have been behind the massive blast that wiped off the whole port on which Lebanon was dependent?
